Specjalizuje się w następujących obszarach badawczych: filozofia polityki, społeczeństwo obywatelskie w Europie Środkowej i Wschodniej, teorie demokracji i demokratyzacji, wczesnonowożytny republikanizm i tradycje parlamentarne, edukacja polityczna. Obecnie realizuje dwa międzynarodowe projekty badawcze: ‘Kondycja społeczeństwa obywatelskiego w Europie Środkowej i Wschodniej trzydzieści lat po rozpoczęciu transformacji w perspektywie porównawczej’ finansowany przez NCN oraz ‘Recovering Europe's Parliamentary Culture, ca. 1500-1700: A New Comparative Approach to Political Assemblies in the Commonwealth of Poland-Lithuania and the Kingdoms of the British Isles’ finansowany przez ID.UJ.
