Cooperation agreement between the JU FIPS an JHI

The Faculty of International and Political Studies of the Jagiellonian University has entered into a cooperation agreement with the Emanuel Ringelblum Jewish Historical Institute. The Jewish Historical Institute (ŻIH) and the JHU's JHU will cooperate in the implementation of joint scientific projects. The Jewish Historical Institute has been cooperating with the Institute of Jewish Studies at the Jagiellonian University for many years, and now the field of joint research will expand to include new aspects of Polish-Jewish relations, analysed both from a historical and contemporary perspective.

The cooperation agreement was concluded on the basis of a joint project of the Department of Political Communication and Media Policy of the JU JU Institute of Political Communication and Media Policy and the Jewish Historical Institute, entitled Affirmations of the figure of the 'Other' in Polish political, social and cultural discourses. The key event of the project was the jointly organised academic conference Jews in the Multiverse of the Polish Language in November 2023.

The project, led by Dr Bartosz Kwiecinski and implemented by the team: Dr Monika Ślufińska, Professor at the Jagiellonian University, Dr Beata Zając, Dr Katarzyna du Vall, Dr Jakub Żurawski, was the result of a competition for the development of cooperation with the university's external environment, with financial support from the Faculty of International and Political Studies, as part of the Strategic Excellence Initiative Programme at the Jagiellonian University.
