The topic of the lecture is: System Leadership: Its Role in a Collaborative Environment. It will be delivered in English on the 18th of March (Thursday), starting at 18:00 (CET) on MS Teams. It will be followed by Q & A session (in English). This is the fourth lecture in the „Leadership” series organised by the Department of National Security.

SGM (ret.) Dr. Steven Horsley, DEL is a U.S. Army Veteran with experience in the application of adult learning theories, learning organizations, instructional methodologies, e-learning, and curriculum mapping strategies that align with performance goals.

His military education includes all levels of the Noncommissioned Officer Education System including US Army Sergeant’s Major Academy Class 55. He is a graduate of Special Forces Qualification Course, Ranger Course, Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape (SERE) Course, the USASOC Mountain Course, Airborne and Jumpmaster courses. In 1990 Dr. Horsley was selected for US Special Forces in May 1990. He served with United States Army for 31 years retiring in 2016.

Dr. Horsley earned a Doctor of Executive Leadership (DEL) and a Master’s of Science in Strategic Leadership (MSSL) from the University of Charleston. Currently he serves as an Instructor for University of Charleston’s Undergraduate Leadership Program, Dual Credit Program for High School students, Critical Thinking Committee Member, and DEL Mentor. He specializes in Organizational Behavior, Organizational Development and Change, Frontline Leadership, Procurement and Production, and Performance Management.

For several years he has resided in Berlin, currently sharing his knowledge and expertise as an Adjunct Instructor with students of FOM International High School and IUBH Berlin.
