Seminar on „Access to firearms and ammunition and citizens’ safety”

The Department of National Security of the Institute of Political Science and International Relations of Jagiellonian University cordially invites to a seminar on the access to firearms and ammunition and its consequences for the safety of citizens. The seminar will take place in Aula Wystawowa A, Auditorium Maximum UJ (33, Krupnicza St) in Krakow, on the 8th of March 2018 (Thursday), 16.30-19.30 (4.30-7.30 pm).

The seminar is dedicated to the controversial issue of access to firearms and ammunition in the context of the emerging challenges and security threats as well as accompanying trends and legal-political projects concerning both liberalization and restriction of the access to firearms and ammunition. Invited speakers will present issues referring to relations between the citizens’ access to firearms and criminality, the role of non-governmental associations in promoting rules of safe and responsible use of weapons, proposals of amendments to the Polish law on arms and ammunition, „gun culture” in the United States.

The seminar will be held in Polish.
