Inauguration of the academic year 2020/2021

On October 1, 2020, at the Collegium Novum of the Jagiellonian University, the inauguration of the academic year 2020/2021 at the Faculty of International and Political Studies took place. Due to the pandemic threat, it was of a limited nature and was transmitted on-line.

The ceremony was opened by the Dean of WSMiP, Dr hab. Paweł Laidler, prof. od UJ, who welcomed representatives of dean's authorities, heads of individual units, a group of professors, all employees, students and doctoral students. In his speech, the Dean presented the opportunities and challenges facing our unit in the new academic year. Then, the Vice-Dean, Dr hab. Ewa Trojnar, prof. of UJ, discussed matters related to didactics. This part of the ceremony also included the matriculation of first-year students of all majors and levels of studies at the Faculty of International and Political Studies. Next, the chairman of the Faculty Council of Students' Self-Government, Ms Zuzanna Kopania, took the floor, encouraging all students to get involved in the work of the student organizations existing at the Jagiellonian University.

The inaugural lecture concluding the ceremony entitled "Man - Security - Power" was delivered by Prof. dr hab. Artur Gruszczak.
The community of our Institute was represented during the ceremony by: the Head of INPiSM Dr hab. Adrian Tyszkiewicz and the Deputy head for general and international affairs Dr hab. Piotr Bajor.
