Junior Scholar Workshop on Research Design and Publications with Peter J. Katzenstein – Summary

On May, 23rd in Collegium Maius (Sala pod Belkami), Jagiellonian University hosted a workshop for advanced Ph.D. students and young faculty from CEE countries conducted by Professor Peter J. Katzenstein. 

During the workshop, participants had an opportunity to discuss methodological and theoretical aspects related to developing research designs, followed by publication processes in academic journals. 


The workshop was organized by the Institute of Political Science and International Relations at Jagiellonian University in cooperation with Krakow Branch of the Polish Society of International Studies.

Professor Peter J. Katzenstein, who led the workshop, holds a position of  Professor of International Relations at Cornell University, which remains a part of prestigious Ivy League consisting of high-ranked American universities. Within the field of International Relations and Political Science, Professor Katzenstein remains one of the most influential IR scholars.In his academic career, he contributed to awide range of editorial and research projects.


In the workshop participated: Karol Chwedczuk-Szulc, PhD (University of Wroclaw), Mateusz Filary (Jesuit University Ignatianum in Krakow), Tibor Hargitai (Corvinus University of Budapest), Magdalena Kania (Jagiellonian University), Magdalena Kozub-Karkut, PhD, Tomasz Pugacewicz, PhD (Jagiellonian University), and Rafał Wiśniewski (Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan).

The aforementioned workshop has been a part of a series of workshops organized for junior scholars from CEE countries led by outstanding researchers of IR. Previously, similar workshops have been organized at Warsaw University by Anna Wojciuk with Knud Erik Jørgensen (2012) and with Stefa Guzzini (2014 & 2015).
