So far, supporting Ukraine has been part of a bipartisan consensus in the United States. The opposing coalition, consisting of elements from the extremes of both parties, constituted a minority in the U.S. Congress. However, even before the November elections, the process of party polarization was noticeable, as only members of the Republican Party remained opponents of such aid. Although, as a result of the elections, the Republicans will take control of the House of Representatives, this should have a limited impact on U.S. policy towards Ukraine.
