II issue of the journal "Teoria Polityki"

We are delighted to inform that the second issue of the journal TEORIA POLITYKI has been published. The coordinating department for that issue was Department of Philosophy and Theory of Politics of the University of Warsaw, and the lead editors Tadeusz Klementewicz and Jacek Ziółkowski.

The leading theme of the second issue is critical theory.

Reflecting upon research achievements of political science requires above all referring to its cognitive functions, that is description, explanation and prediction. It also requires taking into consideration its possible applications. Political science can thus be seen as entangled in the activities of creating the image of the political life of a given society, entagled in mechanisms of shaping the civic culture. It is impossible to debate political science achievements without considering the heuristic potential of the theory of politics and self-critical analysis of the role played by the political science theorists. For research practise is now being developed in the reality of the current phase of the evolution of the market society (turbocapitalism) and the hegemony of neoliberalism, that is in the particular socio-economic and cultural context. The title of the issue: Theory of politics as critical theory aims to represent these heuristic reflections.” [T. Klementewicz, J. Ziółkowski]

The authors of most articles are Polish theorists. Among international authors, there are David McLellan (University of Kent), Clyde W. Barrow (University of Texas Rio Grande Valley), and Brainard Guy Peters (University of Pittsburgh).

We would like to invite you to read the articles available on the journal website, http://www.ejournals.eu/TP/
