The area of research interests
The interests and the areas of scientific activity of the members of our staff seem to be very diverse, yet there is a common denominator of all our endeavours, namely the topic of political system and democracy. Both these phenomena are analysed with the use of various research methods, such as comparative method, system analysis and empirical studies. This work resulted in numerous critically acclaimed articles and facilitated the development of our teaching programme. The following issues are scrupulously analysed and investigated here: totalitarianism and authoritarianism, political leadership, party systems and electoral systems, local authorities, public administration, political and social role of the Internet as well as management and administration. All these issues are studied from various perspectives, and different contexts and determining factors are taken into account. Staff members of the Chair in Contemporary Political Systems also study contemporary political history of the world. This list is not complete, though. The study of the world of politics generates new research areas, which help us to understand the world around us better.Research projects
