Marcin Grabowski was elected as the member of the Executive Council of the Central and Eastern European International Studies Association (CEEISA)

We are excited to inform you that Marcin Grabowski, associate professor at the Institute of Political Science and International Relations has been elected as the member of the Executive Council of the Central and Eastern European International Studies Association (CEEISA) for the period from 1 November 2022 to 31 October 2025. This is the second time, when prof. Grabowski will held this notable position. He was the member also during previous term from November 2019 till October 2022 (he was preceded by prof. Artur Gruszczak at this position).

The Executive Council will consist of six members, namely:

  2. Marcin Grabowski (Jagiellonian University, Poland)
  3. Aliaksei Kazharski (Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovakia & Charles University in Prague, Czechia)
  4. Dóra Piroska (Central European University, Austria)
  5. Petra Roter (University of Ljubljana, Slovenia) – ex officio
  6. Dagmar Vorlíček (University of Vienna, Austria)

The CEEISA and the Executive Council is presided by Filip Ejdus (University of Belgrade, Serbia).

The CEEISA is an individual-based open membership professional organization which was established in 1996 to create a network of researchers in Central and Eastern Europe in the field of international studies and thus support the development of this field and the individual professional development of its members. The CEEISA main aims are to enable meetings and exchange of research results of researchers from Central and Eastern Europe and to enhance cooperation within the region so as to secure a more tangible IR output to the global scientific community. Representing around 30 countries, the CEEISA has a worldwide membership.

Marcin Grabowski is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Political Science and International Relations of the Jagiellonian University of Krakow and the Director of the Centre for International Studies And Development. Prof. Grabowski has graduated in International Relations from the Jagiellonian University in Krakow. He studied at Columbia University in the City of New York (School of International and Public Affairs), George Washington University in Washington (Sigur Center for Asian Studies), and University of California, San Diego (School of International Relations and Pacific Studies), where he has completed the Global Leadership Institute program. He is actively engaged in international and national research associations, and broad international cooperation projects. His research focuses on the problems of the Asia-Pacific region (especially on regional economic integration), foreign policy of China and the United States, theories of IR, complexity science, as well as international economics.
