We kindly inform you that a research project “Contemporary military operations - conditions, experiences and the perspectives for changes on the battlefield” - was started in November 2020. The project is financed within the resources of Own Research Fund of the Military Institute of Armament Technology in Zielonka. The research team consists of scholars of both the Chair of National Security of the Jagiellonian University and the Military Institute of Armament Technology - within the framework of cooperation between the JU and the scientific and social environment. The head of the project is Col. Res. Prof. Dariusz Kozerawski, PhD of the Chair of the National Security of the JU. Other members of the Chair - Agata Mazurkiewicz, PhD, Błażej Sajduk, PhD, and Piotr Orłowski MA - are also involved in the project.

The purpose of the project is to define the role of contemporary military operations, taking into account their conditions, experiences and prospects for changes on the battlefield in the context of maintaining international security. When analyzing the current state of knowledge and available literature on contemporary military operations, it should be emphasized that their changes have been significantly influenced by the the national, regional and global security environment. The experience of numerous security actors, for whom armed conflicts are one of the most serious strategic challenges, is also a key factor. For this reason, it is fully justified to conduct research and prepare a publication covering conditions, related experiences and perspectives of changes in a field of combat regarding modern military operations, including modernization and development of currently used and implemented technologies and weapon systems.

To effects of the project will include: organization of scientific conferences and symposia, presentation of research papers during conferences and symposia (domestic and foreign), publication of articles and scientific reports presenting partial research results, as well as elaboration and publication of a Polish/foreign language scientific monograph devoted to contemporary military activities with particular emphasis on conditions, experiences and perspectives of changes in a field of combat.
